2022 Case Competition
LAST YEAR’S CASE COMP THEME: Sustainability: The Next Frontier for Luxury Brands
This case competition aimed to immerse students into the world of international business, gain fundamental presentation skills & gain exposure to hot topics such as ESG (environmental, social, governance). The goal was to bridge the gap between sustainability and the luxury industry on an international scale.
This event was followed by a networking session during which participants had the opportunity to closely interact and ask questions to judges and gain a deeper insight into how you can navigate your own career paths.
Here is what the schedule looked like :
January 27th, 2022: Case release to all participants
January 28th, 2022: Teams continue case crack
January 29th, 2022: Presentation day in front of a panel of judges, winners’ announcement, followed by a networking session

This event aims to introduce students to the world of international business, where they can learn from speakers who have been on exceptional international career journeys in this field. This event will be followed by a networking session during which students will have the opportunity to closely interact and ask questions to speakers and essentially gain a deeper insight into how they can navigate their own career paths.
IMA x Glocalzone Case Competition
Are you a U0, U1, or U2 student interested in international business? Are you looking for valuable case experience and excited by competition?
The International Management Association is hosting its first case competition about International Business, supported by our sponsor Glocalzone! We are thrilled to announce that this event will happen between the 11th and the 13th of March (case cracking will be on the 11th and 12th and presentations will be held on the 13th), and will feature a real-life case provided by our sponsor. This means that the decisions you take, the strategy you propose for this case will be applied by our sponsor and will have real-life impacts! Are you up to this challenge?
We are excited to announce that the winners of the case competition will bring home interviews for internship opportunities at Glocalzone this summer!
Glocalzone is an international online marketplace that allows you to buy or sell products to and from individuals from other countries. While still in its start-up phases, Glocalzone is expanding rapidly and is actively looking for young motivated interns!

IDSSA Conference
In collaboration with the International Development Studies Student Association (IDSSA), the IMA will hold a conference with both a business and political perspective on different global issues. In particular, guest speakers will address key concepts such as global trade, international relations, and worldwide economic development. This conference will present students with a better understanding of global politics and their impact on business across the world.
Huawei Conference
In collaboration with Desautels Technology Club (DTech), the IMA will hold a conference with a Chinese technology giant, Huawei. Guest speakers from the company will essentially talk about the opportunities and pathways the new and developed 5G brings and opens in international business.
You will also have the opportunity to attend a virtual tour of Huawei’s Headquarters live in Beijing!
Information Session
Our information session is meant to introduce new and prospective students to the Major in International Management (MIM) at McGill. In particular, it will cover the MIM program structure, its required components and the future career opportunities available for graduating students.
